Hi everyone, I’m Sophie and this GoFundMe is for my precious girl Kiwi. Kiwi is a five year old rescue dog from North Macedonia. Everyone who meets her falls in love with her instantly - she’s the most gentle, empathic little diva and has got me through so much over the years.

We left our life and many friends in Berlin to move back to the UK together this year. It’s been a lot of adjusting for Kiwi and now she’s loving digging her paws in the Cornish sand and watching me swim (hates water hehe) in Bude's sea pool.

Sadly, Kiwi is in a lot of pain right now and requires urgent treatment. The vets believe something has pierced through her eardrum and has embedded itself deeper into the middle ear (the tympanic bulla). It’s causing constant pain, infection, inflammation, and is also affecting how she walks and eats. She’s on strong pain medication as some temporary relief but even they are making her very sick.

The surgery she needs is called a Total Ear Canal Ablation (TECA). It’s a bit of a complex one that requires a CT scan beforehand to identify exactly what’s going on ahead of the surgery. It will mean that Kiwi loses her hearing in her left ear, but that she’ll finally be free from pain. <3

The CT scan costs £2000 and the surgery is £3000, so in total, we need £5000 to get Kiwi treated and happy again.

Kiwi really is my whole world - she’s such a special girl and can turn anyone agnostic into an instant dog worshipper. I’d honestly do anything to make sure she lives the happy, healthy life she so deserves. Any amount (even just a few £s if that’s all you can spare) would make the biggest difference to getting her back on track and happy again, even if it means she’ll be down an ear. :’)
