Six years ago, we found Kiwi hiding under a car outside our apartments. He was abandoned and alone, so we welcomed him in with open arms. Ever since that day, our little family was inseparable. Any time one of us would go out, it would always be followed by “can Kiwi come too?”. We loved bringing him to to run around in the grass and spend time with our friends, especially to different on campus events during our time at UOP. His warmth and gentle nature never failed to make us smile.

Over the past weekend, Kiwi was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma, a type of cancer that causes swelling in his lymph nodes and can spread throughout his body. Most dogs diagnosed with lymphoma can pass away within weeks without the proper treatment.

However, Kiwi's oncologist believes we caught the cancer as early as we could, which means we have a glimmer of hope for our faithful little boy.

We're fortunate to have some insurance coverage for Kiwi, but our policy has its limitations and the estimated cost of his overall treatment is proving to be a heavy financial burden. In many cases, this burden is the ultimate cause for families to allow their pets to pass. We are hoping that this page will help us improve his access to care so he can get the treatment he needs.
