My beloved Kiwi was diagnosed with wet FIP on March 29th 2021 by both pet clinic and ER. It is a heart breaking news to me.
Kiwi is a 7-month domestic short hair. I adopted him and Mango (bonded to Kiwi) 3 months ago. Kiwi used to be very playful and energetic. His favorite game is chasing after laser pointer. Kiwi and Mango kept me company during the special time of COVID-19. Even though it has just been 3 months, it definitely feels a lot longer and we already had so many good memories together.

A few days ago, Kiwi started loosing appetite and just sitting facing a wall for a whole day. I got so worried and took him to vet. Doctor did blood test and x-ray examine. There are a lot of abdominal fluid. This is typical symptom of wet FIP.
FIP stands for Feline Infectious Peritonitis and is a type of feline coronavirus. This disease is very serious and can be fatal, but Kiwi deserves a chance. Kiwi has been a very strong boy. There is some experimental treatment that sounds very promising.
Kiwi is starting the treatment today March 31, 2021. It is going to be a 12-week process. This page is created to help raise funds for his extensive treatment and medical costs. Anything will help and be appreciated. Together hopefully we can give him the life he deserves.
