Hi! We are the very lucky fur-parents to a five-year-old Labrador Retriever named Kiva. The breeder Kiva came from was shady and did not do proper DNA testing on his dogs. Because of this, Kiva was born with a neuromuscular condition called CNM that causes megaesophagus. Although together as a family, we have worked hard to keep Kiva healthy, there are risks, and two weeks ago, Kiva aspirated on her food and was hospitalized with pneumonia. She needed to stay 4 nights on oxygen and IV meds, which left us with a $15,000 bill.

Kiva may have disabilities, but she is one of the happiest, sweetest, and most vibrant dogs in this world. Every person and animal that meets her loves her. She knows the word “friend” and considers everyone her friend.

We were so fortunate to save Kiva, but could really use some help.
