Help Kity's Family Keep the Lights On

Some know me as Kity, some as Katie, some as Kat. Some know my history and who I am.

For those who do not: I am a 45-year-old mom to three, now adult, kids with both physical disabilities and major mental health issues.

I have unfortunately had to take several days off from work in the past three months in order to be present during a few incidents/emergencies and appointments at hospitals with my kids.

On top of those absences, I have been sick myself for three weeks. I am out of sick and paid time off at my main job and have lost wages that have made it impossible to keep up with every bill.

My fiancé has helped to pay our rent and keep our water, natural gas, insurance, and phone bills current. We make too much to receive PIPP or help from most social services agencies. I do not qualify for Medicaid or Food Stamps. I do go to food pantries, and recently my adult children started getting food stamps.

However, we have fallen behind on our Electric AEP bill, and although we have a doctor's certificate on file for one of my children to be able to keep the power on in thirty-day increments, we still need to pay the bill! It is past due and has been shut off twice with reconnection fees and is now at more than $3000!

There is no possible way for us to keep paying our current bills and to pay even a third to half that amount in one go between now and when we get our taxes back next year!

I work two jobs, own a business, my fiancé works almost 7 days a week, and one of my kids receives disability!

We would be fine if we hadn't fallen behind and had the electric shut off twice! I had been on a payment plan, but that got canceled, and I don't have the money to redo one with AEP!

So, I am turning to using crowdfunding to see if among those who know me and my family would help by even donating $1. Every little bit adds up quick!

If you are more comfortable making a payment directly to AEP, I am willing to give you my account and billing information for you to pay directly!
