Kita went missing on Friday and spent five days lost, scared and injured in Hammond.  Samantha and John spent countless hours day and night searching for her and as a community we rallied to find Kita and bring her home.  

Many people helped to look for her and assisted in putting up flyers, searching many different areas in different communities and sharing information on social media.  After five long days Kita was found, but.....  (the following is from John’s FB post);

“Kita is in bad shape, she’s had X-rays and and tests, and has several broken bones and a dislocated hip. She’s being transferred tomorrow morning for surgery (Authopedic) and has a large laceration on her front leg that can’t be stitched because of the width. She also has a fractured wrist.

We’re giving her the best chance she can to pull through and thank everyone for thinking of her.

We will continue to update with everything that’s happening. Sorry I was too emotional at the hospital and forgot to take an updated photo. I think I’m emotionally broken.....

When we left Kita at the hospital (which SUCKED) she was in amazingly good spirits licking us and her tail was wagging.

You are all awesome people and I’m happy we get to continue with Kita’s fight.

I have set up this GoFundMe page as I’m sure the vet bills for Kita’s care are going to be more than they’ve anticipated....  and I know that we have rallied behind Kita’s search as a community...  and I know we can do that to assist in her care.

She’s quickly become ‘everyone’s’ dog from Korea (she’s only been in Canada two weeks).

Let’s pull together and show her how Canadians do things!!

If Sam and John choose to decline using the  funds raised towards her care,  we will let them choose an animal society to donate the funds to.
