Help Kit With a Hysterectomy
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kit and I am getting a hysterectomy in February.
Specifically, I am getting a uterus, cervix, and tubes removed, because between severe periods, heavy bleeding (and iron deficiency every time). Said periods would be unpredictable, and even if they were more predictable (such as on birth control), I'd be in dehabilitating pain for a week with migraines and severe cramps. I have PCOS, and am prone to cysts and fibroids as well - and in the past, my pain did not matter. It was "you are too young", or "what will your future husband think" or tales about how I was being selfish and not wanting kids - when I have been told since I was 20, that a pregnancy would be dangerous for my own life.
But now, I am able to get a hysterectomy.
Even with so-called "good" insurance, that still means I would owe at least $1,000 for the procedure on my end. It's still abdominal ob/gyn surgery, and recovery takes time - and means there is less I can do for the first couple of weeks. I would need to recover for the first few days, get supplies (waterproof pads, pads for bleeding, painkillers, infection/wound dressings and care, and possibly use my cane for balance/dizziness issues, etc) to assist in recovery, and account for at least a few days' worth of meals as I start acute recovery. Hotels in my area range a lot, but even in estimations, between hotels for 3 nights and food for 5 days, that is still at least $700 I have to prepare for - and student loan payments are supposed to restart in January. That $700? I can't afford to spend it if I have to put it towards student loan payments.
Any funds will help pay the medical bill and go towards recovery.
Thank you.
Note on Image: ...I couldn't find a "relevant image" that wasn't NSFW or medical organ photos. And honestly, the vase is really beautiful and I hope I can find one like this again. Please support your local artists and buy cool things. <3
