SEED's resource room in memory of Nikki & Chelsea

"SEED's Mission is to create a facility that provides those effected by eating disorders, both sufferers and carers alike with confidential independent and non judgemental advice and support to ensure they are aided by the best possible network of care and support to facilitate recovery. We are a group of ordinary people doing extraordinary things and are a charity based on lived experience, set up in 2000 by co-founders Marg and Dennis Oaten as they fought to save their daughter, Gemma's, life."

Hi lovelies! Well the above is us and about me and why this matters.

As many of you know, after a pretty tough year of funding cuts and losing our resource room, I managed to make the dream happen (with so many amazing folks and businesses help!) by securing our very own space at Princes Quay in Hull. Which will include two therapy rooms where we will facilitate one to one therapy for free to those who are affected by eating disorders. These rooms will be named after the beautiful Nikki Grahame and Chelsea Blue who we sadly lost to eating disorders last year. We will also be able to deliver workshops, support groups, training and provide free advice, support and literature to all who need it, including being an open safe space for all affected by eating disorders.

But we still need your help now the shop fit is complete, to kit it out properly. I'm raising money for SEED Eating Disorders support services to help us fund the interior of the resource room and more. We need sofas, comfy therapy chairs, tables, flat screen TV, desktop computer, stand alone printer, a fridge, the list goes on! Any money raised will also help with our intital extra needs and rates as we get ready to have our grand opening in January.

Every penny counts and we are still only here because you've supported us as we get no government or council funding.

Help us make this room the safe, warm and beautiful space it deserves to be, so that all those who enter her, truly know, they matter.

I am still so truly overwhelmed this is a reality, thank you all for the amazing support you've given so far. An eating disorder charity, having a space to be proud of. It's the message so so many need. I know I did back then. Truly.

Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause which means so much to me.

If you or you company can help and support us in any way please do email [email redacted]rity ❤️

Love always, Gem xx
