Help Kit With His Medical Bills

Update 12/28:
This morning Kit was having a hard time breathing. He was suffering worse than before. We had to take him to be put down. The growth inside him made him deadly anemic. We made the hardest choice to put an end to his suffering. My boy was laid to rest today and he'll forever be in our hearts. My family and I are greving from the loss. I'd like to thank you all for the support, whether you donated or shared this GoFundMe. The funds will be going towards his cremation and urn. Thank you all again from the bottom of my heart.

Kit has been my loyal companion for over 11 years, and seeing him sick has been heartbreaking. Over the past few days, he stopped eating and became very lethargic. I took him to the vet, hoping it was something minor, but the news was much more serious. The vet found fluid in Kit’s stomach and chest, and after running blood tests, they ruled out kidney and liver problems. Now, the possibilities are even scarier—heart failure or cancer. The uncertainty is overwhelming, and every day without answers puts Kit at greater risk.

I work hard feeding children for a living, but my income is very limited. The vet bill for Kit's initial visit was more than I could afford, and now Kit needs an ultrasound, echocardiogram, and more diagnostic work to find out what’s really going on. I want to do everything I can for Kit, but the costs are more than I can handle on my own. Kit is my family, and I can’t imagine losing him without trying everything possible to help.

I truly hate having to ask for help, but right now I don’t have another option. If you’re able to help in any way—by donating or even just sharing this page—please know that your support could make an immediate difference in getting Kit the tests he needs. Time really matters right now. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Update 12/23
Kits going under right now. They doctors are doing an abdominal tap to release the liquid and send some off to the lab. His white blood cell count is high as well. They’re going to give him antibiotics and we can hope for the best.

Update 12/24:
So it’s like the best case scenario, the x-rays came back and he had no pneumonia no kidney or liver or heart failure. He is mildly anemic because he has a small infection in his stomach. He hasn’t really eaten or drank water in the past two days so we have medicine to help him eat and far as vitamin deficiency and we need to see if his health improves for the next few days. The x-rays doesn’t show if he might have an ulcer or a growth in his stomach, but they said the liquid was very minimal. They tried to do a stomach puncture thing to get the liquid out and there was only a couple of drops, which is a good sign. If he's health continues the way it is, we have to take him to get a UT Scan, which is going to be around 1 thousand dollars. So far we have spent nearly 2k on bills so far. Thanks to CareCredit and savings. As for now, Kit is home and I'm feeding him and giving him water by syringe. He's eating and drinking but he's not actively doing it on his own. It's been a few hours that he has been home and I know he's feeling the side effects of his meds. I'll do my part in the mean time to continue to care for him.
