If you know Kit Tidwell, chances are she has touched your life in one way or another.

For many, Kit is a familiar and much-loved face in the dance community. You may know her from being greeted with her smile at USA Dance, from asking her to find or purchase something special for you, or from the excitement of seeing what new accessories she had available. Over the years, Kit has built a wonderful community of friends through dance, and so many people have come to know her warmth, kindness, and willingness to help.

Others know Kit for her huge heart for animals. As a volunteer with Dallas Cat Lady, Kit has spent countless hours helping cats in need. She bottle-feeds some of the tiniest and most vulnerable kittens, fosters cats until they find their forever homes, and traps community cats so they can receive the care they need. She is always willing to step up when an animal needs help.

Now, Kit is the one who needs us to step up for her.

Kit recently suffered a serious fall at work and broke her femur. Thankfully, her surgery went well, but she has a long road to recovery ahead. She will remain in the hospital for some time before moving to a rehabilitation facility, where she’ll continue working toward getting back on her feet.

Unfortunately, her injury means Kit will be unable to work for at least the next couple of months. Along with the physical challenges of recovering from such a major injury, she now has the added stress of being without her regular income while everyday bills and expenses continue.

We’re raising funds to help ease that burden so Kit can focus on what matters most right now: healing, getting stronger, and getting back to the people and things she loves.

Whether you know Kit from the dance floor, from the rescue community, or simply as a friend, you know how much of herself she gives to others. From greeting friends with a smile, to helping someone find that perfect accessory, to waking up around the clock to bottle-feed a tiny kitten, Kit is someone who shows up.

Now it’s our turn to show up for her.
