Help Kisha McFarlene Rebuild After Hurricane Beryl
Donation protected
My name is Kisha McFarlene, I am third out of ten children, and a resident of Carriacou
My story is one of resilience and strength. Growing up, little of my childhood at the Bel Air Home for abused children, I have faced immense challenges from an early age. Despite the difficulties of my environment, I developed a deep understanding of the importance of healing, support, and community. My experiences in the home shaped me perspective on life and inspired me to pursue a path of advocacy for children who have faced similar hardships and love for the environment, as I now work with one of the best NGO call Sustainable Grenadines.
Determined to create a better future for myself and others, I have become a passionate advocate for at-risk youth and survivors of abuse and saving the environment.
My story is a testament to the power of resilience and the profound impact of finding one's voice amidst adversity. Through my work, I continue to inspire others to believe in the possibility of healing and transformation.
writing to you today with a heavy heart and a humble request for assistance.
As you may know, Carriacou was hit hard by Hurricane Beryl, which passed through our region on Monday 1st July 2024. The storm caused significant damage to homes and infrastructure across the island, and unfortunately, my own home was not spared. The house was destroyed, and many of my belongings were lost. The destruction has left me and my family in a very difficult situation, as we are now without a safe place to call home.
The recovery process has been challenging, but I remain hopeful and determined to rebuild. However, as a small island community, resources here are limited, and the cost of rebuilding is beyond what I can manage on my own. That is why I am reaching out to you today, to ask for your support in helping me rebuild my home.
Best Regards,
Kisha McFarlene
