Hey everyone — this is a really vulnerable post, and one I’ve gone back and forth on sharing. Asking for help isn’t easy, but I’ve reached a point where I don’t have any other options.

Over the past few years, I’ve been dealing with several long-term health conditions that have seriously affected my mobility and independence. The most impactful being myasthenia gravis (a neuromuscular autoimmune condition), degenerative cervical spine disease, and a heart condition, alongside some of the side effects of certain treatments.

For the last couple of years, having access to a car has been a vital lifeline. It’s made it possible for me to get to hospital appointments, buy groceries, take my cat to the vet, and occasionally see friends — things that would otherwise be really difficult or at times, impossible.

Unfortunately, after a series of unexpected expenses and higher insurance costs related to my restricted medical licence, I’m now struggling to afford my car insurance renewal. Losing the car would mean losing a huge part of my independence and access to the world, and daily life.

If anyone is in a position to help (even a little), it would make an enormous difference. I completely understand that times are tough for many people, and I’m incredibly grateful just for anyone taking the time to read this. Anything from sharing this post, to offering kind words, is beyond appreciated.
