Kirstin has spent her life caring for others. Now she needs our help.

For almost three years, Kirstin has been fighting an extremely rare and aggressive cancer with remarkable strength. She has gone through surgeries, countless appointments, and multiple rounds of treatment. Even during the hardest moments, she has stayed hopeful and has continued to show her kindness and resilience.

Recently, her medical team shared the difficult news that her current treatment is no longer working.

A Promising Next Step

Kirstin has exhausted the treatment options available to her, Keith and her are now looking outside of Canada for the next hopeful step. She has applied to a personalized immunotherapy program at Immunocine in Mexico, which is the preferred option because of the potential it offers when standard treatments are no longer effective. She is currently waiting for formal acceptance into the program. If approved, they will need to travel and stay at the hospital for several weeks to begin treatment as quickly as possible.

While Immunocine is the preferred path forward, Kirstin may also need to consider other medically recommended options depending on what becomes available. These funds will support her overall treatment journey so she can move forward without losing precious time, whether with Immunocine or any other treatment her doctors determine is best.

Why We Need Your Help

Kirstin has been unable to work for much of the last three years, and Keith has spent much of that time supporting her through daily appointments. They have already committed as much as they can, but the financial burden of this next phase is more than they can manage alone.

The estimated cost of treatment is upwards of $200,000. We are starting with an initial goal of $65,000 to help them take the first steps and be ready to move quickly once Kirstin is accepted into the program.
