Hi everyone,

My name is Victoria and I'm reaching out on behalf of my dear friend Kirsten, who's going through an incredibly tough time right now.

Her cat, Marty, needs urgent veterinary care, and the costs are more than she can manage on her own. On June 19th Kirsten found out that Marty has a Mast Cell Tumor, which needs to be removed. She has limited income and hasn’t been able to afford pet insurance. The estimate for the surgical visit and lab work is steep—and that’s not including follow-up visits and medication. This is one of those times when things have gone beyond her control, and she truly needs a helping hand.

A little about Marty: he’s an adorable, extremely loving, orange tabby who will turn 13 this August. He was once an outdoor cat, cared for by a neighbor, but became an indoor cat after Kirsten adopted him in 2019. They first bonded while she spent time gardening in the neighborhood, and over time, she gained his trust as she gave him fresh water, brushed his fur, and sang to him. Marty is her world—her baby, her constant companion, and her only local, day-to-day family. They do everything together.

Kirsten is also still grieving the recent loss of her best friend and companion of 22 years, Tim. He was a wonderful friend and cat-dad, and Marty is even more special to her because they co-parented him together.

We’re hoping to raise around $2,500 to help cover veterinary care, surgery, lab work, medication, and follow-up appointments. Every donation, no matter the size, will help ease the burden and give Marty the care he needs to heal and continue being the light in Kirsten’s life.
