My name is Kirsten, and the past few years have been a constant struggle with my health. A few years ago, I went septic, and since then, nothing has been easy. Most recently, I was admitted to the hospital on June 12th with severe stomach pain. What started as a routine visit quickly turned into an emergency surgery when doctors discovered a serious infection in my stomach that had become septic. I spent weeks in the hospital, including time in a coma, fighting for my life. The doctors still don’t know why this happened, and the uncertainty has made recovery even more challenging.
Since coming home, I’ve been unable to work and have no idea when I’ll be able to return. My bank account is negative because of bills piling up—everything from medical expenses to basic living costs like rent and utilities. While I’m grateful for the emotional support from my family and friends, the financial burden is overwhelming. These past few years have been incredibly stressful, and this most recent health crisis nearly took my life. I know it’s going to be a long road to recovery, and any help would mean the world to me as I try to get back on my feet.
