Hi, my name is Rebecca. I am Kirk's sister. Kirk suffered a heart attack on Monday, January 27th, 2025. Kirk was flown by helicopter to the Wichita Heart Hospital. Kirk had open-heart surgery on the 29th. After the surgery, Kirk was doing pretty good at first. Then, after getting out of the ICU, he had his first vfib and coded. He coded 3 times within a 23-hour period. He had an implantable cardioverter defibrillator placed on February 4th, then was able to go home on February 6th. February 7th, he was taken to the ER due to the defibrillator going off. He had 3 episodes in just a few short hours. Kansas Heart wanted him to come back, so he was sent by ambulance at around 1:00 am on February 8th. He is now back in Wichita at the Heart Hospital waiting for more scans and tests. This has been a huge stress on his wife, Deidre, who has been by his side since he had the heart attack. Not sure how long Kirk will not be able to work, and Deidre has also been off work, being with Kirk. They have a lot of people that love and support them.
