I am turning to Go Fund Me in order to seek help for our close family friend, Kirk Callender.  Kirk’s longtime girlfriend, Yelena became ill and passed away in the hospital on 3/27/21. Kirk, through the years developed a strong bond with Yelena’s 14 -year -old son Ari. He deeply loves the boy who is autistic. Kirk has become Ari’s parental figure, supporting the boy emotionally and financially.

Yelena’s family is unavailable as they live in Eastern Europe and believe that Ari is best off remaining in his home in Brooklyn with Kirk. Kirk is currently looking at high a mountain of unexpected expenses including legal fees to become Ari’s legal guardian, therapy bills for Ari as well as the funeral expenses for Yelena. These bills will cost more than $15,000. At the moment, we are looking to raise a minimum of $10,000 to help him with these expenses.
