Hi everyone,

I’m starting this fundraiser for my sister, Kirby, who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.

If you know Kirby, you know she’s hilarious, brilliant, and incredibly talented. A familiar and beloved face in the Ottawa community, she brings a lot of joy wherever she goes.

She’s also the kind of person who would give you the shirt off her back. She’s always the first to show up, the first to rally people, and the one checking in to make sure everyone else is okay. Kirby genuinely makes the lives of those around her better, and has a way of making people feel comfortable and cared for.

Now it’s our turn to care for her.

Kirby is starting treatment later this month, which will include chemo, surgery, and radiation. During this time, she will need to step away from work to focus fully on her health and getting through this.

We’re hoping to ease some of the pressure so she can put her energy where it matters most: throat-punching cancer in its’ stupid dumb face.

We’ve set an initial goal to help cover things like rent, bills, food, and treatment-related costs, and will adjust as needed.
