My name is Casey, and I’m raising funds for our good mate Kirby, who has recently been diagnosed with sarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer.
Kirby has already started chemotherapy, and while he is facing this challenge with strength and determination, the road ahead is going to be long, difficult and life changing.
Recent updates from his medical team have confirmed that Kirby is unlikely to be able to return to work until late 2026. His treatment plan involves repeated rounds of chemotherapy, followed by major reconstructive surgery to remove the tumour. After that, he will face weeks, if not months, of intense rehabilitation as he rebuilds his strength and works towards recovery.
Anyone who knows Kirby knows the type of person he is. He is generous, loyal, hardworking and always willing to help others. He is the kind of mate who shows up for people without expecting anything in return. That is why this is so important to us. Kirby has been there for so many people throughout his life, and now it is our turn to show up for him.
The purpose of this GoFundMe is to help ease the financial pressure on Kirby while he focuses on the most important thing, his treatment and recovery.
With such a long road ahead and no ability to work during this period, the everyday costs of life do not stop. Funds raised will go directly towards helping Kirby with his usual living expenses, including rent, bills, groceries, transport to and from treatment, and other costs associated with his care and recovery.
The goal is simple: to keep a roof over his head, food in the fridge, and give him the breathing room to fight this without the added stress of financial pressure.
No one should have to face cancer while also worrying about how they are going to pay their bills.
Any donation, big or small, will make a real difference and will be deeply appreciated. If you are not in a position to donate, sharing this page would mean just as much.
Let’s rally around Kirby and give him the support, stability and strength he needs to get through this.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity and support.
