Hi friends! Our beloved Kirby, renowned softball player extraordinaire, has been honored with the opportunity to play some ball in Valencia at the Gay Games. This is THE GAY OLYMPICS, something you maybe didn't know about but now that you do it's everything you ever needed in your life.

But here's the deal, flights to Valencia are well over a thousand apiece, let alone finding somewhere to stay and food to eat while we're there. (As their emotional support animal, and lotl, I will be joining them.) Luckily I wouldn't have to take much time off work, and Kirby is working for themselves right now so they can be uber flexible.

Kirby and I live paycheck to paycheck, like so many of us. Their mental health and physical health has prevented them from working full time for almost a year now. What I earn covers bills and rent and maaayyybe going out to eat once a month. Kirby gets medi-cal and food stamps and does some pet sitting gigs for debt payments and other bills. I guess we were hoping we would be able to make this work on our own, but it's just not something we can afford right now.

I'm appealing to y'all because this would make our Kirby's dreams come true! Like the gay games y'all, Kirby at the gay games?!?!? They could win gold, or silver, or the lesser equally amazing bronze or participation. (I don't know if there's a participation award.) Truly, the experience of a life time.

Flights will be at least $2500, then we need a place and probably some food. So I'm setting the goal at $5000 as a high but realistic budget accounting for contingencies.

Thank you all for reading this and considering supporting our journey. Kirby is the sweetest, most caring and giving and thoughtful person I know. They have faced insurmountable barriers in their life and have somehow surmounted them. Triggered by some godawful stressful bull, their delicate mental and emotional health system right now has them doubting every one of the wonderful attributes they have come to define for me. Some days they just can't do anything at all but stay alive. I get to spend the rest of my life with this person and I am so happy for that. I think they deserve all the support and love and goodwill. Please help me in getting them to this once in a lifetime opportunity to fill a dream they aren't even sure they're able to realize (newsflash kirby, you can frickin do this.)
