Hi everyone,
My name is Deekshitha, and I am reaching out with a heavy heart. My sister, Kiranmai, a student at the University of North Texas (UNT), was involved in a tragic car accident on October 2, 2025, in Denton, TX. She suffered severe traumatic brain injuries, including:
• Subdural and subarachnoid hemorrhages
• Hemorrhagic contusions with brain swelling
• Multiple skull and facial fractures
She was in the ICU for several days, and her condition was initially described as “Guarded.”
Although she is now out of the ICU, her recovery journey is long and incredibly challenging. She urgently needs specialized neuro-rehabilitation, intensive physical therapy, and long-term cognitive recovery care to regain her mobility, memory, balance, and daily functioning. Unfortunately, most of these treatments are not covered by insurance, and the costs are far beyond what our family in India can manage.
I traveled from India on a humanitarian visa to take care of her, and we are doing our best—but the financial burden has become overwhelming.
To make things even more difficult, the driver responsible for the crash had no insurance, left the state, and has not been located. Legal advisors have told us that compensation is extremely unlikely.
We are raising funds to support Kiranmai’s:
• Neuro and physical rehabilitation
• Ongoing medical care and therapy
• Long-term recovery needs
Kiranmai is strong, determined, and deeply loved. With your help, we hope she can heal, rebuild her life, and one day return to her studies at UNT.
Every donation, no matter the amount, makes a real difference. Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
With gratitude,
Deekshitha
