My name is Karen Sabharwal and I am fundraising for my Auntie, Kiran Kaushal. Kiran is the loving mother of her only child Vivek. They live together in Punjab, India where Vivek was tragically injured on January 2nd. Vivek was on his way home from work when a car struck him in a hit-and-run and left him on the side of the road. The driver immediately left the scene without checking on him. The fast-acting bystanders are ultimately what saved Vivek's life, as they were the ones who brought him to the hospital. Vivek has been unconscious since his admittance two weeks ago, and doctors are still understanding and working on his condition.

Kiran is now struggling to pay for her son's medical expenses that come to 15-20,000 rupees a day ($200-250). At this point doctors are unsure of how long Vivek's treatment is going to take, and cannot give her an estimate for total costs. Kiran and her husband Shyam are both retired and do not have the means to pay the private hospital on the daily required basis. They are now considering selling their family home in order to have more money for Vivek's treatment. In order to prevent this, I created this gofundme.
