Help Kip Overcome His Medical Challenges

Donation protected

Kip has been through a lot in his short life and has had quite the story. He is currently on his 4th hospitalization of the year trying to help him figure out his GI tract. So far he has spent over 38 days in the hospital this year. He was hospitalized in March, June, July, and now September.

Kip is currently on TPN at the Masonic Children's Hospital and is set to be in the hospital now for an unknown amount of time. He is currently dealing with a global dysmotility issue. We are trying an experimental medication to hopefully help and are pursuing additional testing to help improve Kip's quality of life. His mom, Taylor is spending majority of her time taking care of him at the hospital. His dad, Jake is handling things outside of the hospital. The family is staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Minneapolis. Jake is working modified hours to get Theodore to and from school and therapy. Taylor is Kip's paid caregiver, and she is unable to work when he is hospitalized. The dogs are being taken care of.

Jake and Taylor have both worked to prepare for situations like this but as frequent as they have become and how long they are becoming has taken its toll. We have decided to set up a GoFundMe to help with the day-to-day expenses at this point.

If you are able to, each donation would mean the world to our family. If you are unable to financially contribute, please keep us in your prayers as we pursue the best quality of life for Kip possible. If you have more questions or would like to reach out, please do.

Kip's story
When Taylor was pregnant with Kip, it was discovered at the 18 week anatomy scan his abdominal cavity was filled with fluid. After months of testing, Kip was born at 34 weeks and spent some time in the NICU at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. He has struggled with eating and bowel movements since day one. In July of 2023, Kip had exploratory surgery where it was discovered that he is missing a portion of his abdominal wall and that he had an in-utero bowel perforation. In May of 2024, Kip had a G tube (feeding tube) placed. Kip has been in and out of the hospital since he was born. In October 2024, Kip was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Kip has undergone more Xrays than we can count. He has had multiple CTs and MRIs done. In June of 2025, Kip had an ACE tube placed to help with his bowel movements. His system had complications after this and is G tube was turned into a GJ tube. Kip has continued to struggle with his system "turning back on" since this surgery and is now on TPN. Kip was even diagnosed with norovirus in July which did not make him have bowel movements. That is how much his system does not work. Kip takes multiple medications a day to try and help his system. He has also been in physical therapy, feeding therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy since he was an infant at Capable Kids. He is in ABA therapy at Partners in Excellence. This is just a brief rundown of his story leaving out many details but those who know Kip know he is a fighter, has a bright happy smile, and can be very goofy.
