Kinsey is our 24-year-old daughter, and she has shown incredible strength through a journey that began when she was just 14. She started experiencing severe abdominal pain whenever she ate or drank, and after countless ER visits and doctor appointments, we finally reached the Mayo Clinic in 2022. There, Kinsey was diagnosed with multiple vascular compression syndromes (MALS, SMAS, MTS, NCS, POTS) and gastroparesis. We learned that she was born with these conditions, and nothing we could have done would have changed her path until she received the right diagnosis, surgeries, and treatments.

Over the past four years, Kinsey has endured endless tests, procedures, and surgeries—one of which was a major vascular surgery last year in Jackson, Mississippi. While that surgery helped with some complications, Kinsey still needs another surgery to address her SMAS, which is a genetic anatomical issue. She has not been able to work or participate in activities for long because she simply doesn’t have the energy. Right now, Kinsey survives on daily 12-hour TPN infusions since she cannot eat any food. She has tried multiple NJ tube feeds, but her anatomy prevents them from staying in place. She also has a Gtube to drain her stomach, as her digestive system no longer works properly. The TPN puts her at risk for serious infections, and she has already had her port surgically removed and replaced three times due to these complications.

Our local doctors have done everything they can, but Kinsey needs specialists with more experience in her rare conditions. We have been blessed to find a doctor/surgeon in Virginia, as well as another surgeon that will hopefully be available at procedure time if he is not in the Philippines performing the procedure we are praying and blessed that they are willing to treat Kinsey in hopes that she can eat again and live a normal life. We are asking for your support to help cover hospital fees for the proposed surgery, travel expenses, and necessities while we are away from home. Insurance is not guaranteed to pay for anything, and this next step is out of reach for us without help.
