Hi family and friends, I’m raising funds to help my son, Kingston Dowdy, attend the NYLF Advanced Medicine & Health Care Residential Program at Georgetown University in Washington, DC from June 24 – July 3, 2026. Kingston has been selected for this incredible opportunity because of his academic achievement and interest in medicine, and I am so proud of him. This program will give him hands-on exposure to medicine and healthcare, leadership development, and a chance to grow in a space that supports his future goals.
My son Kingston is a 9th grader at Lithonia High School, and I am so proud to share that he has been selected for the 2026 National Youth Leadership Forum Advanced Medicine & Health Care program at Georgetown University. This incredible opportunity was offered to him in recognition of his academic achievement and his growing interest in the field of medicine. Kingston has always been a great kid, and being chosen for such a prestigious program is a testament to his hard work and dedication.
What makes this opportunity even more special is the impact it could have on Kingston’s future. Originally, he wasn’t sure about attending college, but I believe that being exposed to new experiences and environments like this will help broaden his perspective and inspire him to dream bigger. This program will give him a chance to learn from experts, connect with peers who share his interests, and see firsthand what a future in medicine could look like. I know that with the right support, Kingston’s future will be bright and full of possibilities.
I want to be honest — the timeline is short, and I do not have this amount of money available in such a short period of time. I am doing everything I can, but this is a major expense for our family. Kingston is also the oldest of 5 children, so while I work hard to support all of my kids, I don’t want him to miss this life-changing opportunity because of finances. We are raising funds to cover the program-related costs. Any amount helps, and every share means a lot to us.
