Help Kindra fight!

Kindra is one of the sweetest humans you could ever meet. She has been through her share of hard times but always pulls through with a positive outlook. She is a 35 year old doting mother of two, and loved by her family and small community.

A year ago Kindra was admitted to the hospital for some of the worst pain she had ever had. It was diagnosed as pancreatitis of an unknown cause that would not go away. She has been managing the pain since. However just prior to this past Mother’s Day, Kindra was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. It has metastasized with multiple tumours to her liver as well as to some lymph nodes within her abdomen and shoulder.

A biopsy revealed that the cancer is a rare type of cancer with a better outlook than nearly all pancreatic cancers, however surgery is off the table.

Kindra is currently waiting for the next step, medically. In the meantime, she has been exploring other avenues of healing including treatments with a naturopathic doctor in Edmonton who focuses on combining conventional cancer care with naturopathic medicine. Kindra has also been trying various forms of energy healing, nutritional healing, spiritual work, acupuncture and much more. She is determined to try any means possible to extend her life to be with her precious children and family for as long as possible.

Kindra will be making the move to Edmonton soon to be closer to all forms of treatment—but also for one major reason. The Cross Cancer Institute will not treat Kindra if she is not an Alberta resident. All of her doctors and records thus far have been in Alberta due to her home location being closest to an Alberta facility rather than Saskatchewan. Her Alberta oncologist is really trying to advocate for her.

The move to Edmonton, cost of living, the expensive naturopathic treatments that are not covered by healthcare all will add up tremendously. We all know that when we come together no matter how small—it can have an amazing result! So many people want to help but don’t necessarily know how. This is how. This is Kindra’s best chance at fighting this and she can’t do it alone! The last thing she should have to worry about is financial stress during this difficult time and I very much hope we can ease that for her.
