Hi! We are Kindest Kid in America and we are on a mission to make kindness contagious! My name is Jessie Hansen and I'm in my doctorate degree researching school shooting prevention. This program is my captsone project and it's what I want to dedicate the rest of my life's work to. As I have researched how we can help prevent school shootings, even though we know it's a very big puzzle, we also know that KINDNESS is a big piece to that puzzle. We ALL have a part to play in making our world kinder. Kindest Kid in America is our attempt to do our part to help prevent these tragedies.
Violence is contagious but kindness is way MORE contagious! If we all do our part, we can help prevent tragedies.
How it works:
Step 1: Anyone, anywhere can nominate a kind kid.
Step 2: We write a custom children's book about that kid and their real acts of kindness and publish it on amazon. (We have already published 22 books from 16 different states!)
Step 3: We surprise the kiddo with their award and their book at a school-wide assembly!
The goal is to celebrate that wonderful kid and to inspire ALL the kids watching to also be kind! Kindness is contagious!
We are raising money so that we can make these assemblies FREE for the schools instead of having them pay for an assembly. We're also hoping to raise some money to help the kids who have already won the award to join us (with their parents) in Washington, DC on November 13th for WORLD KINDNESS DAY! We have invited congressmen/women and senators to join us in a kindness project at the capital building as we are sharing our call to action with the word- that we ALL need to be kinder!
