Hello, My name is Kimberly "Kimmiko" Ware.
Around October 30-31st I was feeling slightly weak.. noticing a wet cough. By November 3rd I went Into the ER and was admitted Into the hospital for 102.8 Fever, later to be diagnosed with Covid pneumonia. Everything seemed to be ok so they released me on November 6, 2020.
As the days past by more symptoms began to occur such as voices in my head for a few days. I began losing mobility and had to spread chairs apart so I can rest to get to the restroom and I documented and posted on social media my progress. Which led to family and friends messaging and encouraging me to try to go back to the hospital.
Listening to their stories of how their family members had similar experiences and past away from it: I decided to call 911 to get transported back to the hospital.
By this time it's Wednesday night November 11th. The EMTs said i had 85 oxygen in my blood. By the time I was admitted back to the Emergency Department it was November 12, 2020.
The pulmonary specialist took arterial blood and said I had 65% Oxygen in my blood stream and was admitted to the ICU of the hospital.
The team was making a decision to put me on lifesupport, but they decided to try the idea of plasma infusion... but I wasn't a candidate because I already began producing antibodies for COVID 19 and so days after they decided to put me on steroids, antibiotics, antivirals, etc.
As days continued, parts of me were getting better and others were not.
The nursing team and doctors said due to my preexisting condition with uncontrolled diabetes and hypertension; the COVID19 was able to come and attack.
Because they giving me steriods and other treatments I will unfortunately have higher levels of sugars and blood pressure.
Its Thursday November 19th, 2020. I am still in the hospital . They told me that it is important I finish the drugs and steroids while in hospital but the after care would be the most important; monitor and use insulin for my blood sugar.
I currently am considered self employed or freelance and I do not have any health insurance. So this Go Fund Me is for myself;
With the conditions that is going on; I qm trying to gather funds to cover my recovery at home, medicine(insulin), cost of home expenses, food and medical supplies, and whatever else that comes my way.
My goal is to change my lifestyle . Recover from the COVID19 pneumonia, control the diabetes type 2, try to find a provider that will look over my insulin treatment, make healthy lifestyle changes to prevent reinfection of pneumonia or COVID19.
Any help, even words of wisdom, encouragement, etc would be appreciated.
I have not had visitors due to COVID19 isolation but I do video chat or conversate via social media.
