Early Monday morning, Kimiko and her son Riku, beloved members of our mountain community, lost their home in a devastating house fire.
Just after 1am in Crestline, Kimiko woke up to the smell of smoke. In a matter of hours, they lost everything.
Thankfully, both Kimiko and Riku are physically unharmed, but the emotional toll has been immense. They only have the clothes on their backs, and are still in shock as they try to process the loss of their home and belongings.
Our community has always been a place where neighbors look out for one another, and now Kimiko and Riku need our support more than ever. The funds raised will be a gift from this community that shows them how much they are cared for and how much their lives and wellbeing matter to us.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a real difference as they work to recover from this devastating event. If you feel moved to give, anything is helpful. It's the holiday season and I know things are tight, but together we can help Kimiko and Riku find hope and comfort during this difficult time. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
