Help Kimi Get a Service Dog
Donation protected
I’m Kimi. I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome which causes faulty collagen production. This affects me every day, from chronic pain, to seizures, to dislocations and autonomic dysfunction. I have POTS which causes a very high heart rate in an attempt to get blood back to my brain. I used to have a cardiac alert and mobility service dog who helped me walk, told me when my heart rate is too high, and would retrieve and bring items to me. He also would respond to fainting and seizures. This gave me a huge amount of independence back. I could go out on my own without worrying about a concussion from fainting alone and hitting my head. I am in my senior year of high school and will be going into music school. However, I will be taking a gap year to save money for school and to hopefully train a service dog. This would give me my life back. Anything helps, thank you.
