Support After Losing Home, Pets & All Essential Items in Devastating House Fire 

My name is Crystie, and I've created this campaign on behalf of Kimberly Bustamante Rodriguez’s family.

On Feb. 2, 2026 my best friend Kimberly and her family of 4 lost their home, two family cats, two beloved pet birds, and all their belongings in a devastating house fire. Thankfully Kimberly and her family were able to evacuate in time and are safe, but the loss has been unimaginably hard on everyone, and their lives have been forever changed as they figure out their next steps. 

Their cat, Anubis, first lived through the fire, and was taken to an emergency vet where he was treated, but despite every effort he sadly did not survive. Though they lost all their personal items, documents, and have to rebuild their lives from scratch, the loss of their pets has added profound grief to an already devastating tragedy. 

Kimberly is a devoted caregiver to her sister Vallerie, who has Down Syndrome, making the sudden loss of stability and routine especially overwhelming. The family is now facing the enormous challenge of finding temporary housing, replacing basic necessities, and navigating the many unknown expenses that come with starting over after such a heartbreaking event.
