UPDATE - Louis Toombs bravely lost his cancer battle on Tues

Friends,
We lost my strong, brave Father to cancer on July 10th.
He was vibrant and full of love and joy, should have had many more years to love us, to love life, to love his wife of 55 years, my brave and broken Mother.
We are still reeling by the speed at which this has all happened. Sudden onset of terrible migraines plagued him for months this fall. Several hospitalizations & CAT scans showed no obvious cause. If not for an astutue Dr at his last admission that thought to consult an ear nose & throat surgeon, it would have never been caught. Diagnosed with Stage IV head, neck & throat cancer on Thanksgiving. Several tumors, one the size of a tangerine on the base of his tongue. Inoperable, too weak for chemo, radiation was the recommendation by Moffiitt Cancer Center so that's what we did.
He rang the bell on Feb 28th, and the oncology team called him a miracle. All cancer tumors shrunk to the point where there was nothing remaining to surgically remove. Sent on his way with a F/up PET on 5/22.
We didn't make it that long. Prior to that date, Covid & a leaking feeding tube had him admitted. The grim look on the Dr's face said it all. It's everywhere. Liver, lungs, brain, bones, midsection..Just everywhere.
We are still keeping his go fund me active to assist Mom with funeral expenses and the FMLA she took to spend Dad's last days with him. Thank you to everyone who donated.
