Help Kimberlynn Overcome Heart Surgery Complications
Donation protected
My name is Christina Bailey and my husband and I have a daughter named Kimberlynn. My daughter was born with basically half a heart and she has already had one heart surgery and just had her second heart surgery on Aug 20th called the Fontan. She’s 3 years old now and after this last surgery she developed chylothorax which is fluid around her lungs. The doctors have taken steps to stop the fluid from being produced but they haven’t been working. They have found that the fontan is pressing on two of her pulmonary veins which may be causing her body to keep producing the fluid and the next step to hopefully stop it is for her to have another heart surgery to correct the fontan. We did not expect for all this to happen and unfortunately we are running low on funds as we didn’t expect to be in the hospital for this long and we would be really grateful for any help that is given.
UPDATE-
We have now been in the hospital for two months and my daughter Kimberlynn has been through so much since I posted this, she is so strong and such a fighter. She has undergone another surgery and a couple more procedures I believe, to be honest it’s a little bit of jumble of everything that’s been done, to get her drainage to stop. The doctors tried to plug up her leaking lymph vessel that is pouring fluid into her plural cavity but unfortunately it was not successful and it has been decided it is best if Kimberlynn is transferred to the children’s hospital of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania. They are the best lymphatic specialists in the country and they are confident that they can treat her and help her to come home. However this was very unexpected and will mean that we’ll be away for longer than hoped for and we would really appreciate any help that is given and all of y’all’s prayers.
