Help Kimberly with Hardships from Bike Accident
Donation protected
My name is Kimberly, some know as the Mud Pixie. I have had a string of hardships these last weeks. I have not been to work since before thanksgiving. I got behind on bills after my wallet was stolen and I couldn’t access my accounts. On December 6th I wrecked and totaled my car. The tow was over $300 and I was issued 2 unfair citations. I was not able to find work because I cam down with a terrible chest cold on December 10th. It was mentally very difficult but I have been trying to stay strong. After a stressful week of searching and researching, I drained my savings but I was thankfully approved for a car, even though it’s scary I haven’t had a car payment in 10 years. I was supposed to pick it up Thursday but something happened and it wasn’t ready.
Last Friday, I finally had an opportunity to work. I had to take the bike, which I haven’t been riding because I had not be able to afford insurance on it yet. I wrecked on a country road a few miles from the wedding venue I was going to bartend at. I was put in the ditch and went airborne. That is the last thing I remembered. I was knocked unconscious and came to surrounded by people. I pleaded for them not to tow the bike And someone would come but they didn’t listen. They took the bike and took me to JPS. The ER was a nightmare and I didn’t get a room for 22 sleepless hours. After I went airborne I landed on my left side and face. My helmet saved my life. I broke my lower left rib, impact damage to my left hip and abdomen, damaged my spleen, suffered a mild concussion, ugly road rash on my left hand and fractured 3 vertebrae in my mid back. I’ve been in the hospital since. It’s been very disorientating. I have been better since I was transferred to a room with a great nurse that finally cares for me like I am a human. It’s been very painful and I have not been able to to move. I’ve been fully scanned and my hemoglobin is checked every few hours. The bleeding in my spleen has stopped, no damage to my spinal cord, I won’t need surgery, no breaks in my hip. The rib and vertebrae breaks won’t need a brace and they are confident will heal with only time. My neck is severely sprained with whiplash in addition to the whiplash from the previous accident. This too will be painful but will heal in time.
It’s very difficult, but I’m asking for help. We don’t know how long this road ahead of me will take. I don’t know how long I will be out of work. We need help with bills and for the mortgage and new car payment, cost of getting my baby (motorcycle) back and it’s repairs, and the medical bills and therapy coming my way. We are hoping I will be able to leave the hospital as soon as I can walk unassisted. Bless you all for all the love, prayers and any support. I should be home for Christmas. Happy Holidays to your family from mine. We thank you from our hearts.
