Support Kimberly's Brave Fight Against Rare Cancer

Join Kimberly Myrene’s Brave Battle Against Rare Cancer: Every Moment Counts.

This Go Fund Me Campaign is on behalf of my sister-in-law Kimberly (Bolling) Myrene. We hope to raise $100,000 for medical equipment like a minivan with wheelchair lift, scooter, and other support resources. Imagine waking up one day to a battle that wasn't chosen but thrust upon you - a battle against a rare, relentless cancer that seeks to steal the joy from every moment. This is the daily reality for Kimberly Myrene, a beacon of light in her community, now facing the fight for her life. Before this battle, Kimberly filled her days with laughter, working at a school, and the warmth of family gatherings. Now, she channels her strength into overcoming Rosai Dorfman's Disease, with each day presenting new challenges.

Kimberly's Medical Journey

July 2021: Discovery of a worrying lump in her breast. Initial fears of breast cancer were ruled out, but it was just the beginning.

2022-2023: Diagnosed with Lupus Nephritis and Fibromyalgia, her resilience tested with every flare-up.

May 2023: A new challenge emerges - Rosai Dorfman's Disease diagnosed, this rare cancer adds to her battle.

January 2024: Kimberly completes initial chemotherapy treatment for Rosai Dorfman's Disease.

March 2024: Kimberly's masses are shrinking! Kimberly begins at least 2 years maintenance chemotherapy to continue to treat her Rosai Dorman's Disease.

The result of these multiple diagnoses is that Kimberly has become increasingly immobile. Each day, she faces some degree of pain, at times, debilitating, such as when a "flare" occurs. She also continues to suffer from extreme fatigue, nausea, brain fog, etc.

These funds will improve Kimberly’s quality of life and mobility and reduce her anxiety about medical bills so she can focus on getting better (anxiety can trigger flares in her body that can be very painful).

The requested funds will be used for the following expenses:

Medical bills and prescription medication copays: $17,000 for ongoing and future treatments.

Over the Counter Medications and Vitamins: $4,000 essential for daily management of her medical conditions, not covered by insurance.

Mobility Aids: $45,000 for a used adapted minivan with a wheelchair left to ensure safe and reliable transportation.

Any funds that may remain after Kimberly has completed medical treatment and been cured of Rosai Dorfman’s Disease will be donated to the Histiocytosis Association which funds research for treatment and a cure for Rosai Dorfman and related disorders.

Testimonials

I met Kimberly in 2014 when my husband and I moved to Oregon. She was the first person outside of my family to welcome me. She was kind, funny, energetic, and she always had a smile on her face, so we became friends instantly.
When I had my first child, it was a difficult delivery, and I was kept in the hospital over Thanksgiving. Kimberly was so thoughtful and made Thanksgiving feast for my family. She sacrificed her holiday to spend time with me in the hospital.
Over the years, I saw a decline in Kimberly's health. She received multiple diagnoses with treatment plans didn't seem to help her improve. The treatments took a toll on her body, but she remained positive and kept her faith during the process. She is such an amazing person and a genuine friend. I will always be grateful to her for her thoughtfulness and for her kind heart. At this time, she needs our support, so please help her win this battle.

I met Kimberly years ago when she started attending the church where I was a pastor. We clicked immediately! She was kind and generous, joy filled and funny, truly a gift to be around. This illness that now threatens her body, cannot be fought alone. The saying "God doesn't give us more than we can handle" simply is a myth; sometimes life is way more than we can handle and we only get through with the help of others. Kimberly has helped countless others through the years...now it's time for us to help her.

From the beginning Kimberly believed in me. When we met, she did not feel well. After a lot of searching and many doctors, she learned that she has a rare type of cancer. She has been fighting for her life with a smile, faith, and strength, and a lot of courage. I can't imagine this pain and fight but I have seen it. She is having an allergic reaction to the chemo. She is a warrior for her own health and has some great support. We all know it takes a village, lets be that village.
