I never imagined that my 67th birthday would bring such a life-changing turn. Just as I was celebrating another year, I was involved in a car accident that led to a shocking discovery—a mass on my liver. After many tests and hospital visits, I received the diagnosis: melanoma of the liver. Even more surprising, the doctors traced it back to cancer in my eye that was treated 26 years ago. They told me they had never seen this type of cancer remain dormant for so long before returning in this way.

As someone who is disabled and living on a very limited income, the news was overwhelming. The bills from the hospital and doctors have started to pile up, and now I am facing at least two years of chemotherapy treatments that I simply cannot afford. I feel like I am drowning in expenses and uncertainty, unsure of how to move forward.
