***update 5/4/2025: Kim has battled his way back and has now started radiation and chemotherapy. Please help if you are able and if not, please share. Send prayers and positive vibes his way.

****update 4/6/25: Kim remains in the hospital for now. As of today he does not qualify for chemo or radiation until he gets strong enough to tolerate it. He has been moved to the inpatient rehab unit for intensive physical and occupational therapy. Please continue to pray. He is determined to fight this beast!

For those of you who don't know Kari and I, we are Kim Monroe's big sisters. As kids we tormented, teased and picked on him but we are convinced it created the kind, generous, loving and funny man you all know and love today. Many of you know him from throwing darts with Lost boys or his work with the Ogden Raptors team, Ogden Mustangs or Weber State Hockey team. You are all his second family and an incredible presence in his life.

This past Monday Kim was diagnosed with Stage 4 esophageal cancer. On Tuesday morning we learned that his cancer has spread to his brain. On Wednesday we learned that the largest of the tumors in his brain is imminently life-threatening. It has been a bad week for Kim to say the least.

Kim has made the decision to FIGHT against incredible odds so this morning he is having surgery to remove the tumor that is creating the most concern. We will work on the others in the coming months.

First and foremost we are begging for all of your prayers

Second, the financial strain is mounting now that Kim is no longer able to work.
