Title: Help Kim Thore Get Back on the Road

Fundraiser Description:

Hi friends,

I’m writing this on behalf of my dear friend Kim Thore, someone who is almost always the first to step up when others need help—and right now, she’s the one who needs support.

Kim is facing a significant and unexpected financial burden after her car’s transmission failed during last weeks storm when she got stuck after looking in on a friend’s pets. Unfortunately her transmission was unsalvageable, and must be replaced. Current estimates for the repair are pushing $6000, which is a significant amount for an unexpected repair. As we all know, reliable transportation isn’t a luxury—it’s essential for daily life and work.

Kim is doing everything she can on her end. She’s freelancing wherever possible, cutting expenses, and even liquidating personal items to help cover the cost, but it won’t be enough. The gap is large.

The stress of being without a dependable vehicle has added another layer of strain during an already challenging time.

What makes this especially hard is that Kim is someone who consistently shows up for others—whether that means helping friends in crisis, supporting community causes, volunteering, helping others financially, advocating for animals, participating in adult literacy programs, or simply being the person who answers the call when someone says, “I need help.” She gives generously of her time, energy, and heart, often without hesitation and without expectation. I know this to be true because I was one of them and what she did (without my asking, btw) made a real difference in my recovery from cancer surgery.

Now, I’m asking for that same kindness to be returned to her.

If you’re able to contribute, any amount will help lessen the financial burden and get Kim safely back on the road. If you’re not in a position to give, sharing this fundraiser is just as meaningful.
