Hi Everyone, I am Kim Thomas-Brooks. Over the last 15 years I have used my vehicles to help myself, family, friends, and community. I have transported numerous children to and from school. Delivered over 2000 meals and food baskets to needed families. Taken members of the community to work, market, doctors appointments and church who did not have money nor family to do these things for them. During the last 3 years I have faced a number of life hardships ( Covid-19, homelessness, car mechanical issues, loss of full-time job, family deaths, and my hospitalization) just to name a few. Since Covid's passing; this time is highly stressful because of the number of hardships Covid has caused for me with my health, finances and gainful employment. This past Monday my car was repossessed. This comes five days after my 2nd stay in the hospital in 2 months and 2 months after my baby sisters death. I have worked a few security jobs, and as an election judge, but do not have enough income coming in to cover towing, payment and extra fees associated with the repossession. I am due to go back to work teaching in January 2025. I need my car to keep that position. I need $1664 by Friday. I asked for $3000 to help with some mechanical work and gas until I get my first paycheck from my new job. Thank you for your time reading my story. Please help me get my car out of repossession and to deliver a few Thanksgiving baskets next week. Even a $1 goes a long way.
