For those of you that don’t have the pleasure of calling Kim your family or friend, she is the sweetest, most selfless woman you could ever know. No matter what life throws at her, she always shows up with a smile, and makes sure to ask you how you’re doing without ever acknowledging her own unexpected setbacks. Kim has had an incredibly stressful last few years, and at the end of last year her health took a toll of it’s own.
On December 26, 2021, Kim suffered a heart attack. While hospitalized, she learned she was COVID positive on December 29, and required oxygen. She was hospitalized over the new year and was released January 3, 2022. While being given steroids to help with her COVID recovery, Kim’s blood sugars spiked extremely high, and she was forced to go on insulin to control her sugars. Unfortunately, the doctor that discharged her did not prescribe her with syringes, and she has been fighting to get some prescribed to her as her sugars remain above 400 because doctors are giving her the run around.
Kim is also struggling with opening a short term disability claim. For the last couple years, Kim has been working part time while caring for her husband who has suffered his own medical emergencies. He has had multiple strokes and hospitalizations, leaving him unable to care for himself independently. Nonetheless, Kim has showed up to every shift full of life, no matter what she was dealing with at home.
Kim is never one to ask for help. She has no idea this gofundme is being set up. However, she has so many loved ones, friends, family and coworkers who are rooting for her recovery. Being able to rest and keep stress to a minimum is imperative for recovery for both heart attacks and COVID. Please consider donating. If you are unable to provide any sort of donation, please SHARE the gofundme and send prayers and positive thoughts to Kim. The least she deserves is to take a break after all she has been through. Please reach out to her daughter, Alyssa, with any other ideas on how to help if you are interested.
Thank you all for taking the time to help such an incredible woman! We love you Kim!
