Help Kim Provide Palliative Care for Her Husband

Dear Family and Friends,

It is with sadness in my heart that I write to ask for your help. Four months ago, in early July, my sister,Kim, brought her husband, James, to the emergency department. They were both concerned about a recent onset of weakness and language confusion that James had been experiencing. To their shock and disbelief, a CT scan revealed a brain tumor. James was diagnosed with grade IV glioblastoma, an aggressive and incurable brain cancer.

Since that time, Kim has been operating her licensed fulltime dayhome, as the family's main income earner. Despite having undergone surgery to remove the tumor, as well as six weeks of radiation treatment and chemotherapy, James has continued a gradual decline in his overall health and well being.

The time is quickly approaching now, for James to require palliative care, which my sister wants to provide for him from home. You can understand that continuing to operate a dayhome under these circumstances is not realistic, nor would it be in anyone's best interest, even if it were possible.
