Help Kim Majors during her Breast Cancer fight

Donation protected

As some of you may know, our sister Kim is going through her 2nd battle with breast cancer.  After being first diagnosed in October 2016, undergoing surgery, chemo and radiation she was declared cancer free one year later.  In the three years since the initial diagnosis Kim has had some great things happen but the best was that she was able to marry  her best friend Scott.

Kim was looking forward to celebrating another year cancer free.  Unfortunately, life threw another curve ball at her.  Almost 3 years to the date of her first cancer surgery, Kim received the news that she once again had breast cancer, this time in the other breast. This was a complete shock to her and her family as she had no symptoms this time.  A biopsy was performed and this time the cancer was found to be what is called Triple Negative Breast Cancer.  Kim had surgery in December 2019 where they removed the tumor.  Doctors believed they were able to get all of it and no further treatment would be needed.

At her one month follow up a few weeks ago her doctors were impressed with how well she was healing.  She was feeling better, gaining strength back and was getting ready to go back to work. Unfortunately, because of the aggressive type of cancer she has this time, her Oncologist has recommended that she undergo four rounds of chemotherapy.  One round every three weeks with the first round happening just yesterday.

Asking for help can be hard and not something that Kim and Scott would normally do for themselves. Kim will not be able to work for at least the next 3-4 months while she undergoes treatment and heals and Scott would like to be there for her during her chemo treatments meaning he will need to take time off work.  With medical bills, out of pocket costs for traveling back and forth between home and the hospital, missed work days and normal day-to-day bills piling up, Kim and her husband are finding themselves in an overwhelming situation.  We are hoping to help alleviate some of the stress and worry by taking some of the financial burden off of them, allowing Kim to solely concentrate on healing during her continuing fight.

Kim is one of the strongest people we know.  She always has a smile on her face and never complains.  She just does what needs to be done and continues on with a positive attitude.  She knows she will beat cancer once again and celebrate with another "Can-cer vive Party."   Please join us in helping make this journey just a little bit easier for Kim and Scott.

Thank you.
