On August 5th, 2025, my parents, Kim and Ken Riforgiato, lost everything in a devastating house fire. In a matter of minutes, their home—and every belonging they had built and cherished over the years—was reduced to ashes.

My dad is currently in the hospital recovering from second-degree burns and smoke inhalation. He’s in stable condition, but his road to recovery will be long. My mom made it out safely and is staying with me for now, but they are both displaced and heartbroken.

They’ve lost not just material items, but the place they called home, their sense of stability, and the comfort of familiar things. Nobody can prepare for such a tragedy, and right now, they are facing the overwhelming cost of:

●Removing what remains of their destroyed home

●Finding a safe place to live

●Replacing essential belongings and furniture

●Covering medical expenses for my father’s care
