Well, here goes nothing. I have never done anything like this before, but this is my last hope. I’m currently waiting for SSI and state aid to come through, and while the church helped me last month, I now have to pay this month’s rent. I wish I could go back to work, but I’ve been out since February due to diabetes. Because of that, I developed an infection in my left foot and had to have my big toe amputated. On top of that, I have cataracts so severe that I can’t see to drive, read, or even walk safely. My balance is off, and I have to rely on others for rides. I’m grateful that my insulin is covered by state aid, but everything else is a struggle right now.

While I wait for assistance, I need to come up with rent or my landlord will evict me and my dog. I’ve always worked hard for everything I have, but now I’m going to food pantries just to feed us. I feel lost, hopeless, and defeated. My three kids can’t help because they’re struggling themselves. I know I’m starting this late, but I need to raise the money by Tuesday, and this is my last hope.
