Hello everyone. I’m writing today reaching out for help. My grandfather, Kim Clifton, has been having strokes which have caused him to lose mobility and speech. He had to undergo surgery to stop the strokes and, in the mix, was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. We’ve been absolutely devastated, yet still full of faith and hope. As we navigate through such a hard time, we’re reaching out to friends, family, strangers, and anyone able to help us prepare him and his home to be as comfortable as possible.
After leaving the hospital, Kim was put into rehab where he was completely neglected. He was left nights on end without being changed and given no help at all. I don’t want to go into the horrendous details of the neglect, but he had to be pulled out and brought home. We’ve been able to get him a hospital bed but still need a handicap accessible shower put in for him. Kim has always been a hard-working, independent, God-fearing man. He’s taken care of my grandmother hand and foot, served his country, and loves his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren immensely. He’s always taken care of everyone around him in any way he could. Now we are trying our best to do the same in return.
My nanny needs all the help she can get at the moment. We appreciate the smallest acts, including just sharing his story in hopes we can raise what we need to help life be comfortable for him. We’re only asking what is left of what we can’t foot for his accommodations and all the prayers we can get. We thank you for taking the time to read his story and spread the word. God bless.
