Help Kim Carpenter and Family Overcome Crisis

Hi! My name is Kim Carpenter. In March of 2024 I had a stroke at the age of 54. Life altering event is an understatement. I worked as a Mental Health Counselor. As such, I was the primary income provider for my family which includes three adopted sons. I am currently bed-bound as a result. I have paralysis on my left side. I nearly died three times but was resusitated with CPR in the hospital. The stroke was due to mostly occulded carotid arteries. It was caused by a hemorrhage instead of a blood clot. So clot busters could not help but cause more harm. My husband returned to work at the start of December. This required us to hire a nurse to provide care in our home. We are hoping that beginning in January, we will receive much needed equipment and services through Medicare. We are not sure what will be covered. Currently, we need financial assistance after our car was repossessed. We need $4,000 by Jan. 9, 2025. The amount of medical bills not covered by insurance add up to $7000 as of Dec. 2024. A hoyer lift is needed to assist me getting out of bed. My left shoulder appears to be partially dislocated due to difficulty in transferring me to a wheelchair. We have paid out of pocket for in home care while my husband works. Any help or prayers, would be greatly appreciated. Even if you can only share this story, that also would be helpful. Thank you, Kim
