Help Kim Battle Brain Cancer and Bills
Donation protected
A couple of years ago a close friend of mine started her journey to fight her brain cancer, Glioblastoma. Kim and I worked together in Chicago, way back in 1993, and became fast friends. I adore her, and her husband Alex, and her two daughters, Emily and Mallory. Their family has become part of my family. Kim is one of the strongest people I know, and that continues to be the case as she fights this fight.
A few weeks back she started sending me daily “good morning” memes, and it brightens my day, every day, knowing she wakes up and thinks of me. Last weekend she texted and said she missed me and asked if she and Alex could drive in for the day to visit. Of course!! Sunday came, in rolls their car, and out rolls a wheelchair. I had no idea that this last round of radiation hit her this hard. This beast goes away, comes back, goes away, and comes back again.
Kim is an elementary school teacher and Alex is a paramedic. Alex is currently working 50+ overtime hours per pay period to keep up with bills and Kim is still going into her job most days to do paperwork, to keep her paycheck coming. They have been at this pace for a while now and hearing all of this (for the first time) breaks my heart.
