Help Jessica Through This Tough Journey

Donation protected
Hello,

My Name is Rhett and I am fundraising for Jessica who has put her life on hold to take care of her mother Kim. Kim was diagnosed with a disease called Wernicke–Korsakoff syndrome with an underlying degenerative disease in 2022. After a month long hospital stay, the recommendation was 24/7 long term care for the rest of her life. Jessica explored homes but ultimately opted to be her caregiver and moved Kim into her house instead and began the caregiving journey. This rare disease is an unusual memory disorder with no cure. Symptoms include confusion, loss of mobility, incontinence, difficulty swallowing, and much more. There is also the underlying disease which has been degenerative. We are still working with doctors to figure out that part of things. Kim is a United States Air Force Veteran that served for 14 years starting when she was just 18 years old. Jessica is her legal caregiver and a single mom of a 7-year-old boy. Kim lost her husband (Jessica's father) to cancer 10 years ago. Jessica has given up her entire life to take care of her mother along with her son. While Jessica has done an incredible job for the past 2 years balancing caregiving, motherhood and three jobs (just to keep up with bills) Jessica recently had to take FMLA leave to caretake full-time. Jessica is currently working on liquidating Kim's last asset (her house) to help support their journey through these increasingly difficult times. Unfortunately, this takes time that Jessica does not have. She needs all the support she can get financially to supplement bills to keep the roof over their heads, food in their bellies, caregiving support so Jesscia has time to get all the ducks in order to sell her mother's house and making Kim as comfortable as possible till the end. Jessica and Kim unfortunately do not have the convenience of having a lot of family to help. I am asking you all to please help out Kim and her daughter Jessica with anything you are able. $42.00 covers an hour of in-home health care. $168 covers 4 hours of in-home health care for the evenings she has Daniel so they can have some quality time. $1008 covers 24 hours of in-home care so Jessica can get a day off for respite. $200.00 covers groceries for a week. $350 would cover energy and water bill for a month. $1906.00 would cover a month's mortgage payment. Even if you can only do a few dollars, anything and everything will help. There is also a Meal Train set up, https://mealtrain.com/k3o6qr , if you would like to help that way. Thank you all for taking your time to read this and helping with anything you can. We really appreciate you all!
