Friends and Family,

One of our dearest friends, Kim, is in the fight of her life—and we’re standing beside her every step of the way.

Kim is so much more than a friend; she’s family. Our friendship spans for more than 35 years! Many of us know her as strong, kind, and fiercely loving—so much so that my daughter Ciara affectionately calls her “Aunt Kim Possible,” like the cartoon superhero (T-shirts with that nickname are even in the works!).

She’s also a devoted single mother and grandmother who is deeply cherished by all who know her.

A few weeks ago, a rash developed on her right breast. It was attempted to be treated with antibiotics and there was no positive response. The report shows this means Inflammatory Breast Cancer is at hand. The good news is, it’s been detected early. With the serious concern of cancer at hand, there is also a serious need for financial support. Traditional treatment may be a route taken, but at this time, other therapeutic approaches are the plan. Some of these therapeutic approaches, i.e., Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) and others can get costly. The HBOT will be 5x a week for potentially 3 months. To help support her, we are asking for any contribution that you might could make. These types of therapies have been proven to be effective for the situation at hand and she is working hard to determine if this route can make a significant difference before moving toward traditional treatment, i.e.: chemotherapy and more. Kim’s job (contract work) does not allow her the privilege of any Paid Time Off (PTO). This means, time away from work is lost wages. She will need to be away at times for some of these treatments and her income needs supplementing.
