Help My Boy Kilo Walk Again ❤️

Hi, my name is Tara, and I’m humbly asking for your help for someone incredibly special to me—my dog, my baby, my heart, Kilo.

I’ve had Kilo since he was just 6 weeks old. From that moment on, he’s been by my side through everything life has thrown at me—my ride-or-die, my constant, my comfort. Now, he needs me more than ever.

Kilo has always been such an active, athletic, happy-go-lucky soul. He’s the dog who runs full speed just for the joy of it. He’s the one who greets everyone with tail wags and a big personality. He’s the life of the party, without a doubt. That’s why it’s so painful to see him now, hurting and not himself.

It all started on a normal weekday. I had just gotten home from work, and we went outside for our usual bathroom break. Normally, he races to beat me back to the house—our little game. This time, although he still beat me, I noticed something was off. He paused on the porch steps and couldn’t make it up the last one. His leg looked like it was stuck.

At first, I thought maybe he cramped or stepped on something. Once inside, I gently massaged his leg and paws, checking for pain—he let me touch everything with no issue. But something in my gut told me it was more than that. I kept a close eye on him the next day, but it didn’t improve enough for me to feel okay.

So we went to the vet for an exam, and that’s when I got the news: Kilo has a torn ACL.

He needs TPLO surgery to repair it. It’s a big procedure, but one that will allow him to walk, run, and live pain-free again. The cost of the surgery is $4,100, which includes the consultation, blood work, operation, medications, x-rays, and post-op care. It’s a lot—and more than I can manage on my own right now.

Right now, Kilo is on pain medication (Carprovet 100mg), which helps him manage. But this isn’t a long-term fix. I don’t want my sweet boy to just “manage”—I want him to thrive. I want him to run again, to chase birds, to greet me at the door without hesitation. I want to be the best dog mama I can be to this loyal soul who has given me so much love.
